This week on The Legal Lens podcast, I speak with Jenn Stowe, executive director of the @domesticworkers (NDWA) and head of @CareinActionUS, about how domestic workers are building organized power for dignity and better working conditions.
Jenn grew up in Atlanta, Georgia as the granddaughter of a domestic worker. Her justice work has moved through reproductive justice, electoral work, and movement organizing before NDWA became the place where all of that convergence felt like “home” 💡
NDWA is a nearly 20-year-old membership organization that serves as a national voice for domestic workers, centering gender justice, workers’ rights, Black women’s advocacy, and immigrant rights. Care in Action works alongside NDWA to support, endorse, and turn out voters for women of color candidates, and Jenn sees home-care workers and domestic workers as future mayors, council members, and elected leaders.
